About

With over 17,000 youth members and adult volunteers Scouts NSW is one of the largest and most successful youth organisations in the state. Founded in Australia in 1907 Scouting continues to thrive and grow as the world's largest youth organisation. Scouting provides fun and life long learning experiences for young people aged 5 to 25.

Normanhurst is one of the largest Scout Groups in NSW. We offer an extraordinary variety of outdoor activities for all age groups from camping, bushwalking and bushcraft to greater challenges like abseiling, canyoing, canoeing, snow activities and sailing. Youth members also have the opportunity to be involved in the performing arts, leadership development, community service and environmental projects.

Normanhurst members can also participate in State, National and International events available to all sections. For example Scouts (11-14) can attend a national Jamboree for 12 days with up to 15,000 participants. Scouts and Venturers (14-17) can participate in a World Jamborees with up to 60,000 young people attending.

Scouting is Youth lead and Adult Supported. We put the needs our our young people first. Our program provides fun and friendship and gives them a platform to take a constructive place in society as responsible and engaged citizens.
